Linguistic Impoliteness and Identity Construction in the Context of Hate Speech and Conflict Interactions

Dimitra Philippou, from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, will deliver the talk titled Linguistic Impoliteness and Identity Construction in the Context of Hate Speech and Conflict Interactions on October 13th, at 12:15 in room S06 of the Facultat de Filologia, Traducció I Comunicació de València.

Dimitra Filippou is a PhD Candidate in Linguistics (National & Kapodistrian University of Athens). Her specialization is on the field of Pragmatics and Sociolinguistics. Her PhD thesis is about Linguistic Impoliteness, Hate Speech, and Identity Construction. She also holds a master’s degree (M.A.) in Theoretical & Applied Linguistics from the University of Athens. Her research interests include Pragmatics, Sociolinguistics, Discourse Analysis and Conversation Analysis. She is currently a visiting scholar at IULMA, Universitat de València.
