Goals

IULMA’s general and central objective is the systematisation and dissemination of knowledge of modern languages (or specialised discourses) applied to the fields of industry, science and technology, law, health sciences, etc.

It also aims to disseminate knowledge and research centred on specialised languages to the different fields that may be interested in them: the professional, the academic and the general (the professional, or dissemination of knowledge among peers, is that which is carried out, for example, in articles or at scientific conferences; the academic consists of the transmission of knowledge in the university classroom, with the corresponding interaction between teachers and students; and the general is that of dissemination).

Other more specific objectives would be:

  • To promote, organise and plan research in the various branches of modern languages applied to industry, science and technology, law, health sciences, etc.
  • To carry out research activities on its own and in collaboration with other public and private, national and international entities.
  • Disseminate and disseminate research and studies carried out, through the publication of works, reports, articles, on its own initiative or in coordination with publishers, journals and other means of dissemination, or through conferences, seminars, congresses, symposia and meetings, both national and international.
  • Establish relations with similar institutions at national and international level in order to carry out agreements and joint projects.
  • Toestablish relations with companies and public entities in order to promote technical advice within the field of applied modern languages and to encourage the implementation of coordinated projects that meet their needs.
  • Totrain teaching and research staff in the Institute’s research areas.
  • Toorganise postgraduateacademic courses, as well as conferences, workshops, symposiums, seminars, congresses, etc. of specialisation aimed at perfecting the skills of professionals, taking into account the aims of the Institute.
  • To obtain external resourcesthat facilitate or assist in the execution of the aims described above.
